Caulfield Guineas Prelude 2012 – Final Field & Barrier Draw

September 27th, 2012

The final field and barrier draw has been released for the 2012 Caulfield Guineas Prelude, which is set to run at Caulfield Racecourse this Sunday September 30, 2012.

Nine horse have accepted for a run in the Caulfield Guineas Prelude, including Epaulette.

Epualette won the $1 million Golden Rose last start ahead of stable mate Albrecht, who does not feature in the 2012 Caulfield Guineas Prelude final field.

The three-year-old has drawn barrier two for the 2012 Caulfield Guineas Prelude and will be ridden by jockey Kerrin McEvoy.

Epaulette has won three of his six race starts and has earned more than $875,000 in prize money.

The Commands colt is trained by Peter Snowden at Flemington Racecourse and is nominated for the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas, as well as the $3 million Cox Plate.

Shamexpress will be looking to make up for his last start ninth in the Golden Rose when he runs in the race this weekend.

His owners had opted to pay the late entry fee of $50,000 to gain entry into the $1 million Golden Rose field, however, he failed to do what later entrant Manawanui did in last year’s race.

Shamexpress has won one of his five race starts and has earned close to $70,000 in prize money during his career.

He has drawn barrier three for the 2012 Caulfield Guineas Prelude and will be ridden by jockey Craig Williams.
