Caulfield Guineas Prelude 2012 – Nominations Announced

September 25th, 2012

Nominations have been released for the Group 3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude, which is due to run at Caulfield Racecourse this Sunday September 30, 2012.

Included in the race is Epaulette, who won the $1 million Golden Rose last start.

The three-year-old has won three of his six race starts and has earned more than $855,000 in prize money.

The Commands colt won the race by a head in front of stable mate Albretch to secure a tidy $600,000 in prize money.

Prior to that, Epaulette finished third in the Group 3 The Run To The Rose first-up this spring.

He has come a long way since his 16th placing in the Group 1 Golden Slipper, which was a far cry from his $250,000 Black Opal Stakes win during the autumn racing carnival.

Trained by Peter Snowden, Epaulette is nominated for both the $1 million Caulfield Guineas and the $3 million Cox Plate this spring.

Ashokan, Shamexpress and Liberty Rock are also included in the 2012 Caulfield Guineas Prelude nominations.
